It's summer time...dancers are out of school...families are ready to relax...and vacations are being planned...
But should dancers take a vacation from classes?
Dancers that are serious about their art are constantly looking to improve. They want to improve their technique and master challenging steps. Summer is the perfect time to really advance as a technically sound dancer!
Unlike fall/spring classes, where there's need to perfect choreography for the upcoming annual performance, summer classes allow students to focus on their technique while improving strength and flexibility. Taking 2-3 months off from dance classes is a detriment to a dancer's progress. The muscle memory they worked so diligently to develop will wane, their flexible muscles will tighten, and their strength will weaken. Continued classes really allows the dancer to advance and become more technically proficient.
So let's plan those summer vacations...and then let's DANCE!!!!!
